Jon watched as the Tactar fleet fled through jumpspace portals. He glanced down at his tactical display and noted that the Freedom’s shields were only at seven percent. The Tactar had lost a few ships but had more than enough to finish off the Freedom. Why would they give up their advantage and leave?

“Hishim,” Jon said.

“Yes, Admiral.”

“Was this your doing?”

“It was not.”

“Do you know what happened?”

“I do.”

“Care to explain it?”

“Kaisha is beginning to realize her potential.”

That statement stunned Jon, and despite the victory, he wondered if Kaisha realizing her potential was a good thing. Did Seetok have good reason to fear her? He then thought of the sweet kid they rescued from that maniac and chastised himself for his doubt. Of course, they did the right thing in rescuing her. Whatever it was that she would become did not matter. She was one of them now.
